An enthusiastic response from the Fassi UK clients present at Donington Park
Donington Park (England) - 29th May. The English Fassi dealer, the company Fassi UK Ltd, dedicated a special area to its clients at the “SBK PIT Lounge” situated above the boxes at the Donington Park race track on Sunday 29th May. The numerous guests were delighted to have been able to watch the races, and in particular to see the WSBK victory of the local driver, Tom Sykes.
Kawasaki rider Tom Sykes has taken victory in Race 1 at Donington Park, his seventh in a row at his home track. Ducati’s Davide Giugliano came home in P2 and reigning Champion Jonathan Rea completed the podium in third in a drama filled race. An incredible start for the Kawasaki Racing Team pairing of Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea saw the two Brits escape at the front of the race, beginning a more than twenty lap tussle that eventually saw Sykes earn an eighth victory at the Derbyshire track.
Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes both know what it feels like to climb onto the top step of the podium at Donington, and the Brits will be looking to repeat the feat in 2016 as the WorldSBK paddock gets back on European soil for Round 7 of the season. The Kawasaki Racing Team duo will be optimistic ahead of their home Round, with their eyes firmly set on the top step, as the only two riders on the current grid to have won at Donington. Race 1 will then begin at 15:00 local time (GMT +1), before Race 2 24 hours later in a one-off schedule for #UKWorldSBK.
