WorldSBK ready for another massive presence at EICMA

Milan (Italy) - 13th November 2015. The eni FIM Superbike World Championship and EICMA (the International Motorcycle Exhibition) will be teaming up for the fifth successive year to bring the best of the 2015 racing season to the Milan show, underlining its presence as one of the highlights of this year's edition. Next week, EICMA's Pavilion 11 Stand G06 will be the venue for the impressive WorldSBK Paddock Show, with its 500 square metres housing riders, bikes, gadgets, games and entertainment.

2015 FIM Superbike World Championship - Prize-Giving Ceremony

The 2015 eni FIM Superbike World Championship Prize-Giving Ceremony has taken place Monday 19th October, at the St. Regis Hotel in Doha, Qatar. The gathering marked the official end to another spectacular season of motorcycle racing. Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team), has  received the 2015 WorldSBK title from WSBK Executive Director Javier Alonso.

Maiden win for Torres after spectacular battle with Rea

The penultimate race of the 2015 WorldSBK season has been won under floodlights by Jordi Torres (Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils) with Jonathan Rea and his KRT team mate Tom Sykes joining him on the podium. Sykes led from the start, before being passed by his Rea and Torres, the Spaniard pulling off an incredible move around the outside of the former champion into turn one at half distance. Interestingly Torres’ maiden win in WorldSBK maintains Aprilia’s 100% record of podium finishes at the Qatari venue.

Final floodlit race of 2015 won by Haslam

The final WorldSBK race of 2015 was won on the final lap after another race long fight by Leon Haslam (Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils), who took his 2nd win of the year ahead of Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati SBK Team) who secured 2nd overall in the final standings and Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team). The winning margin was 0.110s and meant it was a double win for Aprilia in the season finale.

Sunday 18 October will mark the final two races in the eni FIM Superbike World Championship of 2015. All is decided in terms of Riders’ and Manufacturers’ titles, in favour of Jonathan Rea and Kawasaki, but the runner-up spot is yet to be sealed. Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Superbike Team) edges out Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) by 16 points, with the gap having come down from the 22 it was before Magny-Cours.
