Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) made it two wins from two starts as he dominated WorldSBK race 2 to equal Carl Fogarty’s six race wins. The former champion has now won every race at the 2.5 mile circuit for the last 3 years. He made it a clean sweep, adding the fastest lap in race 2 to the Tissot-Superpole that he secured yesterday, winning by over 9 seconds.
Sykes takes maiden 2015 win in Donington opening race
Sykes has won the opening 23 lap WorldSBK race at Donington Park in dry but cold and overcast conditions after a race long fight with his KRT team mate Jonathan Rea. The pair swapped positions for virtually the whole race after getting the better of early leader Leon Haslam (Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils).

In what could be a decisive session, former World Champion Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) moved to the top of the WorldSBK timesheets after another close FP2 at Donington Park that saw the fastest FP1 time of 1.29.314s set by Leon Camier (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) bettered by almost a second as the top 20 riders all improved their times.

The legendary Donington Park circuit will play host to the sixth round of the eni FIM Superbike World Championship this weekend. The English venue is located in the East Midlands, 20 kilometres (12 miles) from Derby and 30 kilometres (19 miles) from Leicester. It was inaugurated in 1931 and became a permanent racing circuit two years later.
