Maritime Partner AS delivers two workboats fitted with Fassi marine cranes to the Norwegian Coastal Administration


Ålesund (Norway) - In May of this year, the custom shipbuilding company Maritime Partner AS delivered the second of two workboats ordered by the National Coastal Administration (NCA) of Norway, fitted with a Fassi F50A.0 active crane for marine application. The Alusafe 1500 MPV is a comparatively large model for this sector and has been christened “Slåtterøy”.

St. Helens (Australia) – On 12th July, three new aquaculture vessels built by the local shipbuilding company Lyndcraft Boats for the Tassal Group and Spring Bay Seafoods Pty Ltd. were launched in St. Helens, Tasmania. In line with the growth of this industry in the local area, the 16-metre-long catamaran, the “Myti Max”, belonging to Spring Bay Seafoods, has twice the cargo capacity of the company’s existing boats (12 to 15 tonnes) and is equipped with a Fassi F135AFM.0.22 crane for marine application.

Fassi's distributor in Romania, Eurobody Hydraulics srl, proposes a special installation during a positive period for the market


Bucharest (Romania) – Fassi’s Romanian distributor, Eurobody Hydraulics srl, has undertaken the installation of a Fassi F365A.2.26 e-dynamic loader crane onto a MAN TGS 33.420 6X4 BB truck with semitrailer. The model comes in at the top of the medium duty range and has a maximum lifting moment of 31.6 tm and a maximum hydraulic outreach of 16.7 m. This is a typical installation, used most frequently to help with the handling of bulky loads.

The AWC system, which stands for Automatic Winch Control, allows the crane operator to optimise their actions when handling loads via the pulley of a winch. The system is most efficient with the hydraulic extension, making difficult operations easier and guaranteeing full control of movement at every stage. The load attached to the winch can be moved horizontally, maintaining a constant height via a single command; or it can also be moved maintaining a constant incline in relation to the ground or to another reference point.

London (UK) – Last week Fassi UK customer David Watson Transport Ltd delivered portakabins to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London for the 2017 IAAF and IPC World Athletics Championships. This year London will host the 16th edition of the biennial games from 4th – 13th August, which will be the city’s biggest sporting event since the 2012 Olympic Games.

Edmonton (Canada) - At the beginning of July, Fassi customer Encore Trucking & Transport Ltd. assisted in the installation of 11 new sculptures in Borden Park (Edmonton), with the help of a Fassi F155A.0.24 e-active crane mounted on a Hino flat deck truck. The installation took place over two days and is part of an initiative from the Edmonton Arts Council, which takes works of art out of the studio and places them in an accessible and highly-visible public setting.

A medium-duty Fassi loader crane made the British papers lifting an illegally parked car belonging to a former German tennis champion


London (UK) – Towards the end of June, it was reported that in Kensington a blue Maserati GHIBLI S belonging to the German former world No.1 professional tennis player Boris Becker was lifted by a medium-duty Fassi crane and taken away after being issued with a parking ticket. The car is estimated to weigh somewhere in the region of 1,810 – 1,870 kg and was parked close to a junction, causing “unnecessary obstruction”.

After this race, the world championship leadership table remains unchanged, with the competition between Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton set to continue. The weather forecast was set for rain, which never made an appearance.
