600SA Holdings (Pty) Ltd. supplies the largest articulated truck-mounted crane in Africa, a Fassi F1650RA.2 xhe-dynamic

(Democratic Republic of the Congo) – The Durban branch of Fassi’s South African distributor, the company 600SA Holdings (Pty) Ltd., has recently supplied and commissioned the largest articulated truck-mounted crane in Africa for the mining division of the Glencore Xstrata Group. The crane, a Fassi F1650RA.2 xhe-dynamic model, was fitted onto an articulated dump truck manufactured by Engineering Top Tech (Pty) Ltd, which is now deployed on the Mutanda copper mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The crane is proving to be an indispensable piece of equipment for the staff, as it is being used for on-site repairs to the massive earthmoving equipment used in the mine and has succeeded in significantly reducing downtime, including time spent transferring to off-site workshops. The F1650RA.2 xhe-dynamic model is capable of achieving an outstanding maximum lifting capacity of 129.15 tm and a maximum hydraulic outreach of 31.65 m when combined with jib.
