Fassi F545RA - Volvo Euro 6

A Fassi F545RA Hydraulic crane on a Volvo Euro 6 for Kevin Guy Plant Hire

The Kevin Guy Plant Hire company of Colne in Lancashire has just added a 460hp Volvo FH 8x2 fitted with a new Fassi F545RA hydraulic crane to its fleet. The company specialises in the hire and sale of self-erect tower cranes, excavators, telehandlers, dozers and dumpers up to 9 tons in weight. This vehicle fitted with rear pneumatic suspension, a Globetrotter cabin and a pneumatic axle has been made specially for the transportation of self-erect tower cranes and therefore has an 8-metre bed fitted with lowered rear ramps.

Kevin Guy, the founder of the company, stated: “This is our first Euro 6 truck. The employee who will be driving it has already confessed that he loves it. He says that the cabin is very driver-friendly, with plenty of space. The sensations that come from driving the vehicle are fantastic, above all thanks to the I-Shift transmission. This truck is very much our pride and joy”, and adds: “The Fassi crane with its sub-frame weighs only around 7 tons and this allows us to have an excellent loading capacity of 12 tons. In daily practical use the vehicle will be able to transport self-erect cranes above all on semi-trailers, with only their ballast and other equipment loaded on the truck bed”. According to the programming of the company Kevin Guy Plant Hire, the new truck will cover 100,000 km a year and will probably be replaced after 4 years. The Fassi F545RA crane has a lifting capacity which is 10% higher than other cranes of the same category and an extremely reduced total weight.
