Haulier’s heavyweight solution from Volvo FH

Lincolnshire haulier Denby Transport has taken delivery of a Volvo FH 6x4 heavy haulage tractor unit, fitted with an 80 tonne-metre crane. The equipment is plated for operations at up to 120 tonnes gcw.

Supplied by Crossroads Group, the tractor unit was specified with a 10-tonne front axle (said to be one of the first in the UK) and a Fassi F800RA.2.25 he-dynamic 80 tonne-metre crane.

The 6x4 double-drive tractor unit is powered by Volvo's six-cylinder, 13-litre D13C540 engine. Rated at 540bhp, the Euro 5 engine delivers 2,600Nm of torque between 1050 and 1450rpm.

A Fassi crane installs a true pine of the Ardennes in the Grand-Place in Brussels

Tuesday, November 19th. A Fassi crane of 106 tm lifts up a pine tree of the Ardennes in the Grand-Place in Brussels where there is the town hall of the city, one of the finest examples of public buildings in Europe and one of the greatest masterpieces of Gothic style of Brabant.

The pine left Eupen at 2 in the morning has been prepared in his place Christmas an hour and an half later. It tooks two cranes to move this great tree of 19 meters high and 4 tons of weight and a Fassi F1500RA to lift it up and place it on the ground.
