Fassi expands its position in the German market with the acquisition of Bavaria Fahrzeugbau

The international Fassi group, which operates in a range of sectors related to transportation and lifting through a series of companies, with Fassi Gru S.p.A. playing a leading role, has recently acquired Bavaria Fahrzeugbau.

During a recent visit to the German plant, Giovanni Fassi, the CEO of the Italian manufacturer of knuckle-boom cranes, stressed the importance of maintaining a solid relationship with all employees.

In June 2024, the Fassi Group announced the acquisition of Bavaria Fahrzeugbau. The multinational group of companies led by the homonymous Italian manufacturer of knuckle-boom cranes based in Albino (Italy) has confirmed its intention to continue with the activities of the company located in the north of Franconia, which operates in the special vehicle construction sector.

Bavaria Fahrzeugbau is the result of a merger between the companies Albert Fahrzeugbau, Zanner Fahrzeugbau and Nüsslein Michael Fahrzeugaufbauten. With approximately 130 employees, this industrial company is one of the main suppliers of personalised bodies for commercial and heavy vehicles, created for a range of sectors; from hydraulics to refrigerated vehicles, from tipper beds to loader cranes, and more.

Giovanni Fassi, together with Emilio Bertazzi, Fassi Sales Director for Fassi Gru S.p.A., Thomas Moucka, CEO of Fassi Deutschland, Bernhard Fischinger, the new CEO for Bavaria, and the local operational CEOs Mario Borchert and Klaus Seifert, chose to personally meet and greet the employees from all the production plants in Himmelkron, Wirsberg, Wendelstein and Nurenburg, and they were warmly welcomed during all their visits.

Giovanni Fassi, CEO of Fassi Gru S.p.A., in highlighting the growth of the Italian brand in the German market thanks to its distribution network, stressed the affinity between his group and these new German manufacturing companies. In all of the companies, the entire production cycle, from sheet metal to body or completed crane, takes place within each company, guaranteeing the utmost product quality. He added that Albert, Nüsslein and Zanner currently enjoy an excellent position, and therefore does not foresee any change in company orientation. The aim of this investment is to further consolidate the position of leadership enjoyed in the German market.
