LSBU - London South Bank University
SOUTH BANK COLLECTIVE
The work in this calendar has been created collaboratively by students studying the BA(Hons) Photography degree at London South Bank University.
The degree course is based in the centre of London and is focused on the development of creatively innovative, industry focused and professional photographers. The course is led by Daniel Alexander, a photographer and educator.

This commission was undertaken by the South Bank Collective, a young and dynamic creative agency (Community Interest Company) that offers photographic, film and design services at competitive rates. The South Bank Collective is run by the students with the support of Daniel, and undertakes a range of commissioned work for different clients. The calendar has been one of their most exciting commissions this year, and students worked on the development of their ideas for several months before travelling to Italy to shoot them. The overall concept for the calendar was to photograph the cranes on location, to celebrate their precision engineering and aesthetic beauty and to illustrate the scale of the factory space. The work was all shot ‘in camera’ with minimal post-production, and the group worked collectively to design, stage, light and execute each shot.
