A 2021 rich in new features for the Fassi Gru range: the innovative F1450-XHP Techno and the SHT (Smart Hybrid Technology) system have been joined by another series of new models that extend and complete the offer, introducing important innovations in the respective categories.
The pandemic and lockdown have done nothing to slow industrial production at Fassi; on the contrary, the company has increased its design efforts. This has been confirmed with a slew of new models that have been launched over the course of 2021 and which are all being presented at GIS.
The revolutionary project for the new Fassi F1450-XHP Techno sees a true generational change in the construction of knuckle-boom cranes, just as the SHT (Smart Hybrid Technology) system is the first ever example of an electric crane for all those situations requiring silent and zero-emission machinery.
The other new models widen and further enrich the Fassi Gru range, providing even more choice and the possibility of finding the ideal solution for client demands, with the aim of covering further market segments. Cranes to complete the 17-30 tm range, one that now, more than ever, is unmatched in its richness. Lastly, there is a new series of single-arm cranes dedicated to the Far Eastern market.
This wealth of new products is evidence of how innovation continues to serve as an essential guiding value for Fassi, with the aim of presenting the market with ideas and solutions that interpret and foresee its demands, often inspired by client suggestions. The ability to innovate, with a view of the future that is also focused on the present, respecting quality and concepts of design that are essential to obtaining high lifting capacity in relation to an excellent weight/power ratio. Thanks to this manufacturing philosophy and relentless investment in research, Fassi Gru is now capable of proposing products that are not only avant-garde, but which redefine the functional potential of knuckle-boom cranes.
There are three new models for the 17 tm to 19 tm range: the F175A.1, the F185A.1 and the F195A.1. Designed in response to specific demands from a number of European markets, above all for the handling of materials for the construction sector. These cranes are also part of a plan to widen the range, and aim to reduce size and therefore increase compactness, allowing them to also be fitted to two-axle industrial vehicles. The models are fitted with single linkage and will have a number of special optional accessories such as supplementary internal conduits and a new command layout.
Two new models have joined the Z series, with a particular structure that allows them to be closed without removing the accessory fitted, usually a bucket. They are mainly used in the handling of loose building materials, such as sand, which needs to be transported in a covered truck bed and therefore with the crane closed, without having to remove the accessory every single time. Another feature is the raised third control seat, which provides the operator with a clear view of the inside of the truck bed during loading operations. The F215AZ and F245AZ share a wide range of construction elements with the Cranab TZ18, such as the base, the rotation unit and the column, which render them heavy-duty machines capable of withstanding intense work cycles and dynamics.
The medium-duty range, between 20 tm and 30 tm, has been joined by the F235RA.2 and the F225RA.2. A widening of the range, with the introduction of continuous slew-ring rotation. This is a specific response to demands from the construction sector, where this solution guarantees increased versatility and operativity, also thanks to the limited size and weight of the cranes, which allow them to be fitted to two-axle industrial vehicles. The new models will join those already available, that offer rack-and-pinion rotation, and will be available in both standard and xe-dynamic versions.
The new F315B.2 and F315RB.2 e-dynamic are characterised by a decagonal section for the telescopic extension booms, which allows for a reduction in weight compared to the solution of the decagonal-section telescopic booms and secondary arm. Thanks to this solution, which allows for a better distribution of the forces between guide and chassis beam, it has been possible to reduce the thickness of the latter, resulting in a 15% circa reduction in weight. This new solution also allows maintenance to be carried out on the guides without dismantling the extension booms or adjusting the lateral guides.
Lastly, the Fassi Group production plant in Malaysia has seen production of the first XR710 crane from the single-arm series, a model created specifically for Asian markets. This is a crane with a single rigid arm and winch; a simple construction that will be available with either three or five extensions and continuous rack-and-pinion rotation. There are two models: The XR714 and the XR716.
