IFAT 2018

A union of European excellence to be presented at the 27th IFAT fair in Munich. Fassi Group can now offer multiple product solutions and equipment that can be integrated across the group brands

Fassi Gru, worldwide leader in the lifting sector, will be presenting for the third time at IFAT, the most important international fair for the recycling sector, scheduled to be held in Munich from 14th to 18th May 2018. The Fassi Group stand will be located in the open-air area (in plot 810/8) and will cover an area of 300 square metres. Fassi Gru S.p.A. will attend this important event together with the Swedish company Cranab AB and the French company Marrel SAS. These are three leading brands in their respective sectors that, by bringing together their expertise, today offer their best multiple product solutions and equipment that can be integrated with other group brands, enjoying the benefits of the new opportunities which have derived from their being present since 2014 in new sectors (i.e. recycling, ecology and timber) with a range of products of extraordinary breadth.

Today's synergy between Fassi, Marrel and Cranab does not alter each of these brands’ individual industrial identities. At this present time, as since the establishment of this group, we are moving towards examining the heart of each of these industrial entities, intervening to enhance their mutual strengths through sharing objectives and strategies. It is a union of European excellence, a natural, international background in which Fassi was founded and then grew, which is also the cradle of its business model.

The growth of the Fassi Group's business in 2017 compared to the previous year was around 12%. At the base of this improvement is the commercial expansion into new markets and the production drive that finds fertile ground in the extremely dynamic cooperation that takes place between the companies’ different developmental departments. With this important feedback, the market rewards above all the constant attention of the entire group in safeguarding the principles of quality, excellence and innovation.

As far as the product is concerned, the continuous development of Fassi's design of electronic systems, which enhance the cranes’ automation when applied to their use, is a fundamental feature of the latest innovations presented by the Italian brand. The common objective of all the new automatic control systems is to offer operators functions that improve the overall efficiency of their work by reducing execution times, increasing precision and effectiveness.

In particular, Fassi Gru has been offering the following systems in combination with its cranes since 2017:

• ACF, for the automatic opening and closing of the crane.

• AWC, to maintain the position of the hook in relation to the winch pulley and during the extension/shortening of the hydraulic extensions. Also available with jib.

• IoC, to remotely manage the position of crane-equipped vehicles, to have the operating conditions of the crane under control and to intervene (always remotely) in case of malfunction.

In addition, an automatic verticality/horizontality control system has been developed, a function that allows the perpendicular/horizontal movement of the load with a single command. This function is particularly useful in the automated handling of underground waste containers carried out with cranes of 16-20 tm with max. 2 hydraulic extensions.
